EPICS, LLC, is a woman-owned small business that provides essential career exploration solutions to its clientele. We offer a unique Image Attraction Quiz and program to help individuals achieve their full potential and pursue a successful and satisfying career path.

Our services have been used in Libraries, Education Programs, Professional Development, and Employee Engagement Workshops. We use right-brain intuitive responses with cognitive science. We pride ourselves on being a universal, visually literate assessment tool that can be used in diverse populations. In addition to our services, our uniquely crafted activities identify and illuminate professional and soft skill sets and key personal and professional motivators and values.

Our mission is to help people find careers that light them up and make their souls sing. The job-scape has changed rapidly since COVID-19, and we believe it is essential for individuals to make career and life choices that align with their values and goals. We at EPICS want to partner with those who want the same things for their community so we can better lives together.

Created by me, a mother, who decided at 40 she needed a bit more out of life. I finished my undergraduate degree and went on to my MAAT, Master of Art Therapy. Never in a million years did I ever think by taking a career counseling course, it would change my direction, purpose and meaning in life.

Many leaders in the field of career counseling believe you must be happy at work or in your dominant environment to find meaning and feel successful in life. For most of us, it’s our job; for others, it may be where they volunteer, go to school, or spend most of their time.

EPICS’s mission is to offer career development opportunities to all people, whether someone is just starting in the working world, changing jobs or status, or wanting to be happier. EPICS seeks to inspire individuals of all personalities and strengths to find and achieve a successful and satisfying career path by providing an assessment and toolkit that can help you realize your full potential. We strive to grow our business with the same integrity and dedication present in developing our programs to assist you in navigating toward sustainable and viable goals.

Karen Anderson-Fignon is the founder of the Environment and Personality Intuitive Card Sort (EPICS). She has a private practice where she helps individuals struggling through a transformative time. Karen uses EPICS as a springboard to explore and develop career and life choices. She believes that we know intuitively what will provide us with a fulfilling and meaningful life but sometimes need to tease it out.

EPICS is registered in the United States Library of Congress and has been used in various career development settings such as public schools, YWCA with at-risk students, refugees, and other programs.

The Environment and Personality Intuitive Card Sort (EPICS)

uses intuitive career strategies to help you discover or rediscover areas of interest that have been forgotten, put aside for other priorities, and have suddenly reappeared in your thoughts. EPICS can affirm intuitive feelings you have about yourself and your self-expression. Understanding how you express yourself and the type of environment you are most comfortable in can help you look at new, fresh opportunities or changes. EPICS, used in conjunction with other assessments, could help in resume building, enhance career qualifications or point you in the right direction for career and life satisfaction.

EPICS was tested for reliability and validity for unity with the Holland Interest themes on students, professionals, and individuals interested in pursuing a second career. Today, EPICS has been used in helping students of all levels (including students who are ESL learners, at-risk youth, and with disabilities), returning veterans, empty nesters, and professionals who are seeking more satisfaction and meaning in their current careers.

The Environment and Personality Intuitive Card Sort

is based on the Holland interest themes, a cornerstone in career counseling. EPICS helps you to recognize dominant themes/characteristics within your personality that are necessary to express in your environment. These themes can help clarify and reaffirm your more robust features to incorporate into career choices or work transitions to make them meaningful and successful.

The EPICS also helps to identify and address the obstacles and challenges that interfere with career selection or transition. The EPICS consists of picture cards designed to evoke intuitive, emotional, and cognitive responses. Past experiences, emotional ties, and intuition influence the responses. Being a right-brain strategy, the EPICS also can help identify obstacles and barriers that hold back someone from moving forward with career exploration. In addition, the EPICS can be a springboard for exploring career and personal transitions.

Some of us are just beginning our career path. Some of us feel unfulfilled at our current job. Others are experiencing a life transition and find their priorities have shifted. No matter what has or is going on in our lives, having meaning and fulfillment will make us thrive.
